Biafra: Gov Soludo Sureties Kanu, Begs FG For Unconditional Release

Afimag.com –

The Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has appealed to the Federal Government led by Muhammadu Buhari to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally.

Chukwuma Soludo who doubled as the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) made the appeal in Awka during the campaign kick-off of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Saturday.

While lamenting that Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention since 2021, the former CBN governor assured that he was ready to stand surety for him, adding that he would house Kanu in Awka and provide him when necessary.

“I am making a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally. If he cannot be released unconditionally, I want him released to me and i will stand surety for him.

“We need Nnamdi Kanu in the roundtable conversation to discuss the insecurity in the South-East. We must end insecurity in the South East and we need Nnamdi Kanu to be around,” he said.
