Court Sacks Delta PDP Guber Candidate, Orders Fresh Primaries

Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on July 07, 2022, disqualified the candidate of the Delta State Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) for the 2023 governorship race, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, over certificate discrepancies.

The court also asked Oborevwori who doubled as the speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly to parade himself as the candidate of the PDP for the Delta 2023 governorship election.

It was gathered that the court order was in line with David Edevbie’s perceived legal battle against Oborevwori’s emergence as the party’s standard-bearer.

The Party, however, has been asked to conduct a new primary election before the final date of the change of candidates.
