Ministry Of Health Confirms Outbreak Of Cholera In C’River
The Cross-River State Ministry of Health has confirmed the outbreak of cholera in ten communities in the the state.
The permanent secretary, Cross River State Ministry of Health, Dr. Iwara Iwara who disclosed this recently, said he can’t give details of affected people.
According to Dr. Iwara, a Rapid Response team consisting of WHO, Local Government Team amongst others have been established to tackle the situation.

“I can’t confirm the number of persons who are dead, until I’m on the ground, but there is an outbreak of cholera in the Ekureku Community.
“The Rapid Response team has since been activated comprising WHO, Epidemiological team, Local government team, and so on are already on the ground as we speak, but I can’t give you any figure at the moment,” he said.
Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that about 30 persons were reportedly dead in Ekureku Community in Abi Local government area of Cross River State after the outbreak of Cholera.
Ekureku Community comprises 10 villages including Agbara , Ngarabe,
Ekureku-be ,Akpoha , Akare-for , Anong, Emenekpon, Etegevel, Egboronyi, Emegeh shares boundary with some parts of Ebonyi state.
