Ogun Police Kill Two Suspected Kidnappers During A Gun Battle In Itori

The Ogun State Police Command said it has gunned down two suspected kidnappers in Itori.

Security operatives gunned down the suspects on Sunday during a shoot-out.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that Ewekoro Divisional Headquarters were alerted at 7:30 am that some armed men with face masks hid in the bush behind the ICT Polytechnic, Itori.

The Ogun State Police spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in his reaction said that the anti-robbery team of the Ewekoro division was deployed immediately against the hoodlums.

He said that the battle lasted about 40 minutes as the hoodlums opened fire at the police team upon sighting them.

It was verified that the police gunned down two of the suspects during the encounter while others escaped.

DSP Oyeyemi listed police recoveries to include a locally fabricated shotgun, two live cartridges, and two battle axes.

Others, according to him were empty shells of AK-47 rifles, three android phones, two small phones, 8 pairs of slippers, and two school bags.

In his part, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, commended the police officers and vowed to make the state uncomfortable for criminals.

Edward Awolowo who directed the manhunt for the fleeing hoodlums pledged to spell doom on criminals in the state.
