Ujene Urges Herders To Avert Going Into Farmlands With Cows

The mediator between Delta State Government and Fulani Herdsmen, Mr. Mathew Ujene has called on the Fulani Herdsmen to abstain from destruction of crops and other properties of farmers for the purpose of peace and development.

Mr. Ujene made the call after inspecting the damage on the farm of the Ndokwa East Local Government vigilante chairman Mr. Jacob Atoh by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Mathew Ujene lamented that suspected herdsmen invaded the vigilante chairman’s farmland at Igbuku with their cattle and destroyed more than twenty portions of cassava and other crops worth millions of naira.

The mediator directed Herders to stop going into people’s farmlands with their cows, noting that farmers depend on crops for a living the same way Herders depend on their cows.

The peace maker however pleaded to the farm owner to be patient while he brings the matter to resolution.
