Unknown Gunmen Kill Police Officer, Burn LGC, Others In Anambra
Unknown gunmen have on May 15, 2022 set the Idemili North Local Government Secretariat and a Magistrates’ court in the council in Anambra State ablaze.
Africa Investigative Magazine learned that the hoodlums carried out the attack at the evening, burning all the council files.
It was further learned that all the vehicles parked inside the council’s compound had been reduced to ashes.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the attack was pepertrated by unidentified criminals.
Tochukwu Ikenga stated that men of the Nigeria Police have been stationed at strategic positions to restore normalcy in the state.
Here him: “The incident was confirmed, and our men were there to restore normalcy.
“Right now, the fire has been put off, and calm has been restored to the area,” he said.
Also, a yet-to-be-identified policeman was reportedly shot dead in Eke Oko, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
According to an eyewitness, the police officer was intercepted on a motorcycle by the people who shot him dead.
The sad incident took place at 6:10 pm on Sunday.
