Why Gov Wike Emerges As Atiku’s Running Mate

The Rivers State Governor, Barr Nyesom Wike has emerged as the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The Rivers State Governor who contested the presidential primary election against Atiku was considered for VP by the PDP committee as a running mate on Tuesday.

At press time, Gov Wike has not made a public pronouncement on the subject.

It was alleged that Delta State governor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa has in secretly lobbyed to become Atiku’s running mate.

Gov Okowa in his bid to become Atiku’s running mate was accused of bribing PDP Chieftains with N3 billion to have his way.

A reliable source told Africa Investigative Magazine that the Rivers State Governor floored Gov Okowa at the Vice Presidential race.

According to sources, Gov Wike pulled a whopping 16 votes to win the VP ticket while Okowa got only 3 votes.
