By Okwuaka Laboko.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified efforts to resolve internal disputes and strengthen party cohesion ahead of its forthcoming congress, with stakeholders expressing optimism about a unified front.

Speaking to newsmen after a reconciliation meeting, the party’s Local Government Area (LGA) chieftain in Sapele, Prophet Brown Onojayefe, reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to addressing internal divisions, assuring that ongoing consultations would culminate in the unification of all factions before the congress.

Onojayefe described the reconciliation process as a strategic step toward repositioning the party for greater political relevance, stressing that unity remains critical to the ADC’s success in future electoral contests.

According to him, the leadership is actively engaging aggrieved members and stakeholders to ensure that differences are resolved amicably, noting that a harmonized structure would enhance the party’s competitiveness.

“The various factions within the party are being brought together, and we are confident that, on or before the congress, we will have a united and formidable ADC,” he stated.

He added that the reconciliation initiative reflects the broader vision of the party to build a cohesive and people-oriented platform capable of delivering credible leadership.

Earlier, the party chieftain, Hon. Akpovoka Julius, who presided over the meeting, urged members to close ranks and work collectively toward achieving the ADC’s political objectives, noting that unity is indispensable to electoral victory.

Hon Akpovoka harped on the importance of peace, collaboration, and grassroots mobilization in consolidating the party’s structure.

Also speaking, the ADC Chairman in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Hon. Moses Ojanoma Sunday, called on members to set aside past grievances and embrace cooperation for the overall progress of the party.

The reconciliation meeting, which drew party stakeholders from across various local government areas, also featured the distribution of congress forms to ward and LGA chairmen, signaling the party’s readiness for the forthcoming exercise.

The ADC leadership, however, expressed confidence that the ongoing reconciliation drive would not only strengthen internal unity but also position the party as a viable alternative in the evolving political landscape.
