Anambra Police Commissioner Intensifies Stakeholder Engagement Ahead of Statewide Security Summit

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has intensified advocacy visits to key security stakeholders in the state, as preparations advance for a comprehensive Police Security Summit recently approved by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The summit, which will be held across the three senatorial districts of Anambra before culminating in a grand finale at a central venue, aims to foster dialogue, peace-building, and stronger trust between the Police and communities.

It will serve as a platform for Ndi Anambra to collectively address prevailing security concerns and propose sustainable solutions.

As part of the engagement drive, CP Orutugu on Thursday, August 14, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness Igwe Chidubem Iweka, Eze Obosi.

The police chief sought the collaboration of traditional institutions in promoting community safety, peaceful coexistence, and grassroots security initiatives.

Reiterating the Command’s commitment to public safety, CP Orutugu assured residents that the Police will continue to work closely with traditional rulers, community leaders, religious bodies, civil society groups, and other security agencies to ensure a safer and more peaceful Anambra State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that further stakeholder meetings will precede the summit’s commencement in the coming weeks.
