Building Bridges: PCRC ‘A’ Division  Strengthens Ties with Police, Pays DPO Courtesy Visit

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) ‘A’ Division, led by Engr. Godwin Ogheneovo Odokor (JP), paid a courtesy visit to CSP Duru Austine, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘A’ Division, Ughelli, Delta State, on February 19, 2025.

The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between the PCRC and the Nigeria Police Force as well as promoting peace and security in the community.

The DPO expressed appreciation for the PCRC’s support and pledged to continue working together to ensure community safety.

In his welcome speech, CSP Duru Austine said, “I appreciate you for coming. I am familiar with PCRC, and I will partner with you in ensuring that our environment is secured. With your contributions and that of other stakeholders, we shall have a safe society.

“I want to urge you (PCRC) to continue with your selfless service to humanity. Do not relent. I know the important of PCRC. You represent different juridictions as you all are not in one location.

“Pass the information to us when you see something wrong, that’s the key to security,” CSP Duru said.

Earlier, the chairman of PCRC ‘A’ Division, Engr. Godwin Odokor, said the purpose of the visit is to officially welcome and familiarize themselves with the new DPO.

Engr. Odokor pledged the committee’s solidarity and support for the police, emphasizing their commitment to collaborating for greater security output.

Engr. Odokor commended the DPO for for recognizing the PCRC and reiterated the committee’s commitment to supporting the police.

He said, “PCRC’s mission is to foster a strong relationship between the police and the community. By working together, we aim to promote peace, security, and stability in the community.

“The PCRC’s support for the police is crucial in maintaining law and order, and their collaboration will undoubtedly yield positive results,” he said.

The visit marked a significant step in building bridges between the police and the community, promoting a safer and more secure environment for all.
