Elder Monday Enudi, a human rights advocate and business executive, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Nigerian workers for their unwavering dedication and crucial role in national development.
In a statement, Enudi commended the resilience and sacrifices of workers across various sectors, saying, “This day is a powerful reminder that the strength of any nation lies in the dedication, resilience, and sacrifice of its workforce.”
The Rights Activist acknowledged the tireless commitment of workers across all sectors of the economy in driving the country’s progress.
While emphasizing the need for comprehensive labor reforms and inclusive economic policies prioritizing worker welfare, Enudi advocated for fair compensation, improved working conditions, and implementation of policies to uphold labor dignity.
Enudi further called for increased investment in vocational training, youth employment initiatives, and sustainable work environments to address economic challenges and position Nigeria for long-term growth, adding that “Our future depends on how well we empower our workforce today.”
He urged citizens to honor labor dignity and support efforts strengthening the country’s backbone.
The message partly read, “Workers’ Day serves as a testament to the profound impact of a nation’s workforce, whose unwavering dedication, unrelenting resilience, and selfless sacrifice form the bedrock of its strength.
“The diverse spectrum of Nigerian workers, encompassing healthcare professionals, educators, skilled artisans, public servants, agriculturalists, and entrepreneurial visionaries, constitutes the driving force propelling our nation’s advancement. Despite formidable challenges, their unyielding commitment remains instrumental in steering our country towards progress.
As we commemorate this significant occasion, it is imperative that the government prioritize the dignity and welfare of our workers, ensuring equitable remuneration and access to opportunities that foster growth and development.
“By recognizing workers as pivotal architects of national development, rather than mere laborers, we can work towards creating a society that values and empowers its workforce.
“Let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the dignity of labor and honoring the invaluable contributions of our nation’s workers. Happy Workers’ Day, Nigeria.”
