A Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Enugu North District has ordered the remand of a well-known native doctor, Levi Obieze, popularly known as Edey Pray Edey Show, alongside two others, for alleged involvement in murder and kidnapping.
The suspects, Obieze, Sebastian Emeka Offor, and Odinamkpa Ejike were arraigned before Magistrate O. S. Chukwuani on a seven-count charge bordering on murder and kidnapping.
The trio is accused of involvement in the abduction of a 13-year-old girl, Okoye Ukamaka, in Isiagu Community, Enugu State. Following intelligence reports linking him to the crime, Obieze was apprehended by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service on May 29, 2025, at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme border route in Lagos while allegedly attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle.
After their arraignment, Magistrate Chukwuani ordered the remand of all three accused persons at a correctional facility and adjourned the matter until August 20, 2025. The court also directed that the case file be transferred to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The development has sparked public interest due to Obieze’s popularity as a native doctor with a large social media following.
The Enugu State Police Command is yet to release an official statement, but sources close to the investigation suggest further charges may be considered, pending the outcome of the DPP’s review.
