Former First Lady Arrested Over Alleged Fraud

The wife of former governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Obiano Eberechujwu has been apprehended by the operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged fraud.

Obiano’s wife was arrested on April 14, 2022 in Abuja a few weeks after her husband, Willie Obiano was released on bail by EFCC.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the former first lady has been under the watchlist of the commission even before her husband was arrested.

Eberechukwu who is in the Anti-graft Agency’s custody, is been interrogated for financial misappropriation and alleged fraud.

She, however, would contest Anambra North Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance at the forthcoming general elections.
