Four Killed In Mass Shooting At US Hospital

Four people were killed in a shooting on June 01, 2022, evening at a medical building on a hospital campus, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Tulsa Police said the attacker later died of a self-inflicted gunshot injuries.

The Captain, Tulsa Police Department, Richard Meulenberg, while addressing newsmen stated that a lot of people were injured in the one-man-squad attack.

At press time, the identities of the victim and the attacker have been made public as the reason behind the attack remained unknown.

It was gathered that the police responded within three minutes of the ugly incident which took place at 5 p.m. local time on the campus of Saint Francis Hospital.

“The officers that did arrive were hearing shots in the building, and that’s what directed them to the second floor,” said the police.

It was not immediately clear if the gunman had targeted anyone in particular or if the shooting was random.

Police later received information that the shooter may have left a bomb in a residence in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Muskogee. The home was searched by a bomb squad and no explosives were found.

Muskogee is located about 50 miles southeast of Tulsa.

Tulsa police asked family and friends of the victims and survivors to go to Memorial High School, a block from the hospital campus, to wait to learn the fate of the people at the shooting scene.

A statement by Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt reads, “Sarah and I are praying for the families of those who lost their lives and for those who were injured.

“President Biden had been briefed. The situation was being closely monitored and the White House had reached out to state and local officials to offer support,” it said.
