Funny? See Why Court Sent A Complainant To Jail Without Option Of Fine
Federal High Court, Uyo, has on March 03, 2022, sentenced a complainant, Idongesit Samuel Eyibio to a two year jail term without an option of fine.
Samuel Eyibio who was brought to court by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on February 6, 2020, for giving false information to the Commission.
Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the complainant also kept EFCC away from valuable information in his petition.

The petitioner also misled the commission in his correspondence by using a fake name to prefer an allegation of a lottery fraud on one Aniete Eman and Akwa Ibom State GOvernment.
Samuel Eyibio, however, failed to make a moral revelation that there was an existing judgment against him on the said matter.
It was verified that his dispositions contravened Section 39(2)(a) of the EFCC Establishment Act 2004, and punishable under Section 39(2)(b) of the same Act.

In her judgmentt, the presiding judge, Justice Agatha A Okeke said the prosecution had proven its stand against the Eyibio beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced him accordingly.
Eyibio’s Journey to prison started in 2019 when he wrote a petition with a fictitious name, alleging a lottery fraud against one Aniete Ekan of Papi Events & Promotion Limited and Akwa Ibom States Government, without disclosing that there was an existing judgment against him, over the same matter.
