Gov Obaseki Assures FRSC Of Continued Support, Vows To Improve State Road Networks
Edo State Government has pledged to work with the Federal Road Safety Commission to reduce road accidents across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
The Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki disclosed this during a courtesy visit by Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Zonal Commanding Officer, Zone 5 Headquarters, Assistant Corp Marshal Andrew Kumapayi at Government House, Benin City.
Governor Obaseki assured the FRSC officers of continued support to improve the state road networks.
Regarding transportation as one of the State’s top priorities, he noted that the lives of the citizens are taken seriously, adding that the state understands unique location in terms of transportation in Nigeria.
His words: “My administration will continue to work hard to improve our road networks. We take the lives of citizens very seriously and understand our unique location in terms of transportation in the country. Transportation is one of our top priorities.”
The governor also pointed out the need for capacity building, training and planning to stabilize traffic flow in the state.
While commending the state governor for his cooperation, the Assistant Corp Marshal Andrew Kumapayi, stated that his visit was to ensure that road accident are greatly reduced.
Hear him: “I thank the Edo State Government for the assistance the command enjoys under my leadership. This visit was in respect to ensure the safety of road users in the state and we have a target of reducing road crashes in the zone.”
