MOT: Festus Ojuyenum Paid The Supreme Price At Sunset

Richard Ugbeh –

One soul lost suddenly is as gruesome as millions that died in Pogrom. Tragedy occurred in Ukwuani entertainment industry on 12 – 12 -23. A date in the month of December that the immediate Family, friends and Performing musicians association of Nigeria PMAN Agbor and Ukwuani branch will always remember, not because, it was 12/12/023, as an even number but as a date and number.

Death is an issue people don’t always discuss or talk about either because of its negative impacts or fear of the unknown. Death has caused havoc in many families, unpleasant feelings and uncertainty to the living.

“SHE” who has command over the Dead and the living couldn’t command death to keep off. The assurance of SHE wasn’t good enough to assuage the calamity, hence, Supper succumbed to the cold hands of death. Shakespeare once said that “death is a necessary end which will come when it will come whether one is surrounded by weapons”.

Festus Ojuyenum a.k.a Supper had many thoughts in mind, death wasn’t one of the thoughts, his thoughts amongst others was how to entertain the world, as to making people happy through music.

Man proposes, God disposes. That’s the irony of life. Sun set at noon. ONWUBUYA, was one of the volumes of Moment of Truth published few weeks ago, I never knew I was indirectly paying tribute to my brother, an entertainer, a young chap that was into the business of making people happy, Adieu Supper Supper nwa onye Umuchime Ogume.

Until his death he was a band leader and guitarist to ISHIOMA BAND for many years before establishing his band.

He served ISHIOMA OSSAI meritoriously, his loyalty wasn’t in doubt from time to time ISHIOMA his master and musical father engages him on any important occasion that demands his experiences in guitar. Supper Supper nwa onye Ogume as he fondly called him.

So unfortunate that the sun stopped shinning when mostly needed Life is ephemeral, nothing, absolutely nothing is permanent on the earth surface except Sea and other immoveables. Onwubuya.

Moment of Truth heart expressed condolences to PMAN Ukwani and Agbor branch where he domiciled before his demise. A true son of Umuchime Ogume, Delta State, you left the stage so soon.

May the good Lord grant the soul of the departed eternal Rest in Peace. Amen & Amen.
