My Three Years Administration in Ughelli North LGC Will Make A Difference – Jaro Egbo
The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, has said his administration will transform the local government area through sustainable modern projects.
Egbo who disclosed this to newsmen in Ughelli, on October 15, 2024, added that the Local Government Secretariat, Healthcare Centres, Primary schools and other facilities within his areas of delivery network shall sing a new song.
In his address, Egbo enlisted his proposed projects to include “construction of an Ultra-Modern Cottage Maternity Health Centre which will be furnished with the State of the Art Facilities at the Local Government Headquarters, and construction of a new administrative block for principal officers in the Council.
Others were training of teachers in collaboration with the State Universal Primary Education Board, SUPEB, provision of school uniforms, desks, books and a conducive learning environment for pupils, among others.
According to him, “As a Government, within the space of my 100 days of office, we have been able to save over N25,000, 000.00 (Twenty-Five Million Naira) from our internal generated revenue, IGR.
“That’s, the fund earned through our Local Government Identification Certificate, Birth Registration Certificate and Marriage Registration. This money are already been channelled to the purchase of school uniforms, Notebooks, and writing desks for our pupils in the Local Government Area.
“I want to say without mincing words that I met the offices in a very bad state, and I have to take immediate action for the renovation of the Chairman’s office, the Vice Chairman’s office, the Leader of the Legislative Arm so as to have a conducive environment for us to do our job credibly.
“Meanwhile, I have also directed that the Head of Works Department to also bring up a Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for the total renovation and furnishing of the other offices. We have also bought officials Vehicles for office of Vice Chairman, Leader of the 8th Assembly, Secretary to the Local Government, Head of Personnel Management and a Toyota Hiace Bus for the Press Crew.
“Our roads no doubt are in a very a bad state, and in a bid to find a lasting solution to it, I met with our amiable Governor, His Excellency, RT Hon. (Eder) sheriff Oborevwori, who has promised to look at our proposal of approving a 20 Kilometres of roads to us in the forthcoming budget proposal.”
On his part, the Chairman of Ughelli Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Sunday Apah, commended Olorogun Jaro Egbo over his leadership and recent achievements as the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council.
Apah said the council’s chairman perception on health, education and welfare of the people cannot be underscored.
“Your initiatives in health, the procurement of vehicles for our political class, and your focus on enhancing our security outfits all resonate with the pressing needs of our community.
“Moreover, your emphasis on verifying news and partnering with journalists underscores your understanding of the vital role communication plays in governance.
