2023: DSP Ovie Omo-Agege Stoned With Bottles of Water During Official Declaration

The Deputy Senate President, Senator (Barr.) Ovie Omo-Agege was stoned with bottled water during his official declaration to contest the 2023 Delta State gubernatorial election.

DSP Omo-Agege was stoned three times with bottled water on April 14, 2022, at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Delta State.

The Senator who declared his intention to succeed Governor Okowa of Delta State under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) was stoned a few minutes after he mounted the podium to give a declaration message.

The bottled water did not touch the DSP as it was flagged down by people standing beside him.

A few seconds after that, another bottled water was thrown at DSP Omo-Agege which almost hit him on the head.

The act was suspected to be perpetrated by some persons who hid amid Agege supporters group in the opposite direction on the right side.

After the third time of stoning him, security operatives were redeployed into the crowd, particularly, in the direction the distraction emanated.

Two drones covering the occasion were immediately redirected to the same spot to quickly fish out the person(s) attempting to stone the Deputy Senate President of the Ninth Assembly.

Nobody was arrested, and normalcy was restored as the drones and police officers focused on the disputed spot.
