ADUN, BPP Explore Partnership to Establish Procurement Centre of Excellence

The Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Professor Christopher Ogbogbo, has visited the headquarters of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) in Abuja.

The visit aimed to advance discussions on a proposed partnership to establish a Centre of Excellence for BPP Conversion Training at the university.

Speaking during the meeting, Ogbogbo reaffirmed ADUN’s commitment to academic excellence, professional training and national development.

He noted that the university is strategically located along the Ibusa–Ogwashi-Uku Expressway in Delta State, offering accessibility to the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.

He added that the location also provides convenient access for prospective participants from the South-West.

The Vice-Chancellor said ADUN was positioning itself to meet global standards in training future logistics and procurement professionals.

He identified the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management as a key platform for developing institutional capacity and strengthening public procurement practices.

According to him, the proposed partnership aligns with Sections 5(k) and 5(s) of Part II of the Public Procurement Act, 2007.

Ogbogbo expressed the university’s interest in collaborating with the BPP to establish a Centre of Excellence for BPP Conversion Training at ADUN.

Responding, the Director-General of the BPP, represented by Engr. Nasir Bello, commended the university for its interest in the Bureau’s activities and programmes.

He highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s procurement agenda, stressing the importance of due process and compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2007.

The BPP representative disclosed that the Bureau would consider ADUN as a potential Centre of Excellence.

He also expressed the Bureau’s readiness to explore additional areas of collaboration with the university, particularly in consultancy, training and research.
