The Council of Stella Maris Catholic Chaplaincy, Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), has commended the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Christopher Ogbogbo, for his leadership and developmental initiatives, while seeking deeper collaboration to promote the growth of the institution.
The commendation was made during a courtesy visit by the council to Ogbogbo in Ibusa, Delta State.
Leading the delegation, Reverend Father (Dr.) Anthony Banye described Ogbogbo as a visionary leader who had brought his wealth of experience to bear on the development of the university.
Banye said the visit was to appreciate the Vice-Chancellor for his developmental leadership and support for the chaplaincy, as well as to introduce the incoming chaplain, Reverend Father Anthony Onyegasi.
He commended Ogbogbo’s inclusive leadership style and thanked him for his support for the Catholic community within the university.
Responding, Ogbogbo expressed appreciation to the council for the visit and acknowledged the contributions of the Catholic community to the spiritual growth and wellbeing of staff and students.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the council to leverage the Catholic Church’s extensive institutional structure and network to accelerate the development of the new site allocated to the Catholic community within ADUN.
He also encouraged continued collaboration between the university and the chaplaincy, stressing the importance of collective efforts in advancing the development of the institution and supporting the welfare of its community.
