Media practitioners of Ndokwa extraction, under the umbrella of the Ndokwa Media Professionals Forum, NMPF, have called for greater unity among Ndokwa leaders and accelerated development of critical infrastructure across Ndokwa land.
The call was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Forum’s end-of-year meeting held on Monday, December 15, 2025.
NMPF stressed the need for Ndokwa leaders and stakeholders to close ranks and speak with one voice on issues affecting the collective interest of the Ndokwa Nation, irrespective of political or partisan differences.
According to the Forum, unity of purpose remains fundamental to achieving sustainable development, equity, and inclusive growth in the area.
The Forum also expressed concern over the slow take-off of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, citing the inadequacy of existing facilities.
It therefore called on the Delta State Government, Ndokwa Local Government Councils, and other relevant stakeholders to urgently provide the enabling environment and critical infrastructure required for the effective commencement and long-term sustainability of the institution.
On infrastructure, the Forum underscored the urgent need for comprehensive electrification of Ndokwa land, describing electricity supply as a key driver of socio-economic development and improved security.
While acknowledging ongoing and proposed road projects, the Forum urged sustained government commitment to the completion, development, and maintenance of strategic road networks, including the ongoing Ndemili–Utagbe-Uno Road, as well as the Ogume–Abbi, Aboh–Akarai, and Amai–Aragba roads.
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to responsible journalism, constructive engagement, and sustained advocacy, pledging to continue using the media as a platform for public enlightenment, accountability, and the promotion of good governance in the overall interest of the Ndokwa people.
The communique was signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Barth Ozah, and the Secretary, Odili Ogochukwu.
