The President General of Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), Comrade (Chief) Amechi Asugwuni, has appealed to the Federal Government to complement the newly established Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, Delta State, with a teaching hospital to enhance academic programmes and deliver essential medical services.
Ndokwa Neku Union is an apex socio-cultural and socio-economic body of the Ndokwa ethnic nationality, Delta State, Nigeria.
In a statement by the Union on August 4, Comrade Asugwuni described the university’s establishment as a significant economic and developmental milestone for Ndokwa land, stressing that a teaching hospital is vital for the smooth running of its academic curriculum and the practical training of medical students.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support for the institution cited in Kwale and called on relevant stakeholders to ensure it receives adequate attention and resources for a successful take-off.
“As the apex socio-cultural and socio-economic body of the Ndokwa ethnic nationality, we urge the Federal Government to consider the establishment of a teaching hospital that will provide the necessary medical services and support to the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale,” the statement read in part.
Asugwuni also appealed for unity among Ndokwa sons and daughters to support efforts toward securing the teaching hospital, which he said would boost healthcare education and service delivery in Delta State and beyond.
