Obidient Movement Launches PVC Registration Campaign in Delta

The Obidient Movement in Delta State, under the leadership of Comr. Favour Emerure, has commenced a statewide campaign to mobilize residents for the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to the group, the initiative is part of its civic engagement efforts to ensure that more Deltans actively participate in the democratic process.

The campaign aims to address the low turnout recorded so far in the ongoing voter registration in Delta State, which began on Monday, August 18, 2025, and is still in progress.

In a Press Statement obtained by Africa Investigative Magazine (AFIMAG), Emerure who said possessing a PVC goes beyond fulfilling a civic duty, added that it empowers citizens to choose their leaders, influence governance, and shape the future of the country.

“The Permanent Voter’s Card is not just a right; it is a tool for transformation. Through it, Nigerians and Deltans can elect credible leaders, change the narratives, and build a brighter future for generations yet unborn,” he said.

The campaign’s central message, “GET YOUR PVC, GO MERD (Get Organised, Make Election Rigging Difficult),” reflects the group’s drive to encourage transparency, integrity, and accountability in Nigeria’s electoral system.

As part of the mobilisation efforts, the Delta State Obidient Movement has established outreach initiatives and partnerships with community and youth organisations across the three senatorial districts; Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South.

Registration booths have also been set up to guide residents through the registration process before proceeding to INEC’s designated offices for biometric capturing.

Comr. Emerure reiterated the group’s commitment to ensuring inclusivity and ease of access, encouraging youths, women, and first-time voters to take advantage of the opportunity.

“This is not the time for apathy. Every eligible Deltan must take responsibility and show commitment to a vibrant democracy. The future of Nigeria is in our hands,” he urged.

The group also provided detailed information on how to register, transfer, or replace a PVC through INEC’s online platform at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org, including steps for pre-registration, verification, transfer, and replacement of lost or damaged cards.

The movement called on all eligible voters to get organized, participate actively, and ensure that their voices are heard through the ballot.

“Nigeria will be great again,” Emerure concluded, reaffirming the movement’s faith in democratic participation as the foundation for national rebirth.
