In a bombshell confession to the police, Anthony Onyeunor Enweazu, younger brother to a serving officer at Ogwashi-Uku Area Command, Inspector Patrick Ifechukwude Enweazu, admitted selling 100 plots of ancestral land behind Delta State Polytechnic to Pineleaf Estates on behalf of the Mike Nwaukoni land faction with their Iyase in Council at the center of the land for cash to Pineleaf transaction. This was land previously sold by Mr Azubuike Ayinor who is the nominal complainant in the case.
Enweazu, arrested with firearms and ammunition, revealed that the estate developers paid millions in installments directly to Barrister Mayor Okolie, the same lawyer deeply enmeshed in the fraudulent sales.
He further confessed that his police officer brother dispatched him, along with thugs Chuks Okondu and Joseph Dieye, to use guns to terrorize community members and enforce the land grab.
Barrister Francis Okolie, fondly called Mayor is also facing terrorism and attempted murder charges at the Federal High Court Asaba, Delta State.
He also revealed that stolen billboards were delivered straight to Chief Mike Nwaukoni’s house. Even more damning, Enweazu admitted that he and other youths personally showed Pineleaf Estates the land before payments were made.
For months, the Nwaukoni faction has thrown mud at the Obi, sponsoring blogs, fake videos, and faceless agitators to tarnish his image. Now, the motive is clear: they are desperate to cover their tracks and protect the illegal deals they struck with Pineleaf Estates.
A community elder, disgusted by the revelations, said:
“It is now obvious why they are fighting the Obi. It is for their selfish interest. They sold our land, pocketed the money, and are now using propaganda to distract the people. They are traitors, not leaders. Ogwashi-Uku deserves better.”
“It is now obvious why Inspector Enweazu has been unrelenting in bad mouthing the Obi. He is trying to help protect their land sale while pretending that he cares about Agidiase or Ogwashi-Uku.”
Recall that the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku secured a resounding court judgment reclaiming the Polytechnic lands for the community, enforced by court bailiffs with security provided by the Delta State Commissioner of Police under IGP’s authority.
Since then, the land mafia has unleashed a smear war against the Obi, including stage-managing a woman’s video to falsely claim her land was taken, when in fact the court was simply recovering stolen community land.
The arrested suspects, Anthony Onyeunor Enweazu, Chuks Okondu, and Joseph Dieye are now facing criminal charges for illegal possession of firearms, forcible entry, and malicious damage in Charge No. O/18C/2025 before the Delta State High Court, Ogwashi-Uku.
Barrister Francis Okolie is representing the suspects who are currently at the Federal Correctional Center in Ogwashi-Uku at their criminal trial. An unidentified court official claimed to our reporter that the lawyer should have also been part of the people facing trial since he was involved in the land transaction and should be a co-conspirator in the case.
This confession confirms what many Ogwashi-Uku sons and daughters long suspected: the Nwaukoni faction, in collusion with Barrister Mayor Okolie and their police insider, has been running a land mafia operation – selling off community heritage to estate developers while blackmailing the Obi to cover their crimes.
The people of Ogwashi-Uku are urged to unite, reject the land cabal, and stand firmly with their monarch in defending the kingdom’s dignity and future.
