Osinbajo To Attend Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral In London

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will represent Nigeria at a number of events on Sunday and Monday, as well as the State funeral for Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

A statement signed by the VP’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said that Prof. Osinbajo departs Abuja today for London and will join members of the Royal Family, and world leaders.

The Nigerian Vice President would also join members of the Commonwealth, Heads of State, Governors-General, Prime Ministers, and foreign royal families at the ceremonies.

It was gathered that the funeral service of  the late Queen was scheduled to hold at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022.

Recall that Queen Elizabeth II, passed away at the age of 96 on September 08, 2022, at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland, United Kingdom.

Until her demise, the royal Queen was the Head of the Commonwealth and the longest-serving British monarch, reigning for 70 years.
