Passer-by Rescues Two-day Old Baby Dumped In Toilet By Father

A passer-by has rescued a two day baby who was rejected and abandoned to die in a forsaken toilet belonging to Government Day Secondary School (GDSS), Dumne, Song Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

The newborn baby whose umbilical cord has not been served was found alive two days after her father dumped her inside an abandoned toilet.

It was learnt that the father, Ibrahim Lalle (Muslim) impregnated the mother, Hande Daniel (Christian) out of wedlock.

After Hande was delivered of the baby at Lalle’s house, his mother vehemently protested that it was against the Islamic faith to raise the child and that his son should not think of marrying her.

Lalle’s mother, then, suggested that the child who has been rejected be wrapped in a polythene bag and dump in an abandoned toilet which Ibrahim Lalle acted according.

It was gathered that Lalle’s mother refusal of the idea of her son contemplating any marital relationship with Daniel was based on religious beliefs.

The passerby who heard the baby’s cry  brought her out of the pit and took her to the police. Meanwhile, Daniel and Lalle’s mother have been arrested by the police, while Lalle is on the run.

According to the Adamawa State police command spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the newborn baby was rescued by a good Samaritan and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

“Meanwhile two suspects, the baby’s mother and grandmother are in our custody. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the principal suspect, after which they will be charged to court for the law to take its course,” he said.
