PGF: Tinubu Prepares Big Packages For Party Candidates Who Lost In Their States At Polls

The president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to collaborate with the party authorities in electing leaders of the 10th Assembly for the purpose of peace and tranquillity.
Tinubu who personally mandated the governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, Imo State governor Hope Uzodimma and a few others to see to the electoral procedure of the principal officers of the lawmakers, added that he would be satisfied with the outcome of the election.
In a meeting with APC Governors Forum in Abuja, Tinubu rejected consensus candidates earlier suggested by some party faithful, noting that the key positions should be zoned.
Recall that the Lagos State former governor before he traveled to France, met with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) members and some aspirants on the need produce a quality leadership at the national assembly.
The battle for senate president and the Speaker of House of Representatives has commenced as 10 APC senators jostle for senate president while 11 members-elect race for speakership.

The position of senate president seem not be in the favor of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who had recently, said it was his turn to become the senate president. Kalu has been lobbying for the position after his frantic effort to seek the support of the president-elect while he was away.
Addressing the APC governors forum, otherwise known as Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) led by the governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, Tinubu thank God for his election victory, saying that he was the first minority Muslim to emerge President-elect in the country.
He promised to accommodate outstanding governors and former governorship candidates who lost in their states at the 2023 polls in his administration.
Present at the meeting were the vice president-elect, Kashim Shettima; Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state, Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna stste, and Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state.
Others were Hope Uzodinnma of Imo state, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa state, Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos state, and Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers state.
Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara state, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Kelechi Igwe and the APC governorship candidate in Kano State, Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna were also present.
