Afimag.com –

The kidnappers of the wife of Pastor Johnson Ajiboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kwara State, Mrs Bola Ajiboye, have also held a man sent to deliver the ransom to them hostage.

Mrs Ajiboye was released on August 23 after the payment of N1m (one million only) ransom along with foodstuffs and a few other items demanded by the kidnappers.

She was abducted in her shop located at Elerinjare community in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State when gunmen invaded the town last week.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that one of her daughters fled amid sporadic gunshots while the operation was ongoing.

A community source who preferred anonymity due to the stringency of the situation told newsmen that a man sustained gunshot injuries from the kidnappers before they succeeded in abducting the pastor’s wife.

Meanwhile, the middle-aged man who delivered the ransom to the kidnappers was taken captive, and the abductors had demanded N5m (five million naira only) for his release.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said the matter has not been reported to the police.
