No fewer than six persons have feared dead in respective motor accidents that took place during the weekend in Ogun State.
The first collision which happened at Lagos-Ibadan highway claimed two lives, while another accident case was recorded at Lafenwa, Abeokuta.
In a statement obtained by Africa Investigative Magazine, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incidents, saying six persons died in the accident that occurred on Friday and Saturday.
Okpe stated Volvo truck with registration number RBH 420 XA, and a Nissan cabstar, denoted with YYY 486 XB were involved in the first accident, adding that two died with two others injured.
According to her, the second accident, happened on March 24, 2023, involving three vehicles. The vehicles include a tanker with the number plate, T 15321 LA; a BMW car, marked TTD 421 CX, including a Nissan SUV without a number plate.
While saying that four persons were killed in the crash, she noted thag the driver of the tanker, which was fully loaded with petrol, lost control while trying to make a turning at the Lafenwa Roundabout.
She said; “The tanker driver was trying to make a turning at the roundabout at Lafenwa and rammed into two other vehicles.
“The driver then lost control and rammed into a building. The content was spilled, but no fire incident. The content was quickly trans-loaded into another truck with the help of fire service and other traffic managers.”
