Senator (Prince) Ned Munir Nwoko: A Life of Vision, Service, and Impact

As the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (2023–present), I profoundly honored to serve my people and my nation with integrity, purpose, and commitment to lasting progress.

Early Life and Education

Born in December 1960 into the royal family of Idumuje-Ugboko in Anioma land, Delta State, I was nurtured in an environment that valued education, service, and leadership. My academic journey took me to the United Kingdom, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Law and History from the University of Keele, and later obtained a Master’s degree (LL.M) in Maritime and Commercial Law from King’s College, London. I was called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn and subsequently became a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Professional and Legal Excellence

As Founder and Principal Partner of Ned Nwoko & Co. Solicitors (London), I built a distinguished career in law, earning recognition as the Best Black Lawyer of African Descent in England (1995). My legal expertise and patriotic zeal later drove me to spearhead the investigation into the London and Paris Club Loans for Nigeria and its 774 Local Government Councils, a groundbreaking initiative that led to a landmark judgment of US$3.2 billion, a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s quest for fiscal transparency and accountability.

Public Service and Legislative Achievements

My journey in public service began in 1999, when I represented the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. In the Senate, I currently serve as Chairman of the Committee on Reparations and Repatriation and as Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee on the Investigation of Crude Oil Theft in the Niger Delta.

Driven by a passion for reform, I have sponsored over 30 bills and more than 20 motions, focusing on youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, diaspora voting, constitutional reform, resource management, and public health.

Visionary Leadership and Innovation

Beyond politics, I remain a firm believer in innovation, education, and culture as instruments of national development. I am the visionary founder of Mount Ned Heritage Resort, a unique cultural and ecological destination that celebrates African royalty, nature, and creativity.

In January 2020, I became the first black African to visit the South Pole, leading the Antarctic Expedition as part of my Malaria Eradication Project, a bold fusion of science, advocacy, and global partnership against one of humanity’s oldest diseases.

I also founded the Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko, West Africa’s first sports-focused university designed to integrate academics, athletics, and entrepreneurship, nurturing a new generation of African champions.

Philanthropy and Community Development

Through the Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation, I have continued to invest in education, infrastructure, and social welfare. Our initiatives include:

Reconstruction of the Idumuje-Ugboko–Onicha Ugbo Road, linking communities across the South-South and South-East.

Scholarships for over 1,000 students in secondary and tertiary institutions, alongside long-term sponsorships for indigent undergraduates nationwide.

Recognition and Advocacy

Over the years, I have been honored with numerous national and international awards, including the Heroes of Democracy Award for Best Performing Senator (2025). I remain a proud advocate for Anioma development, the creation of Anioma State (Bill 481), and a strong proponent of Igbo unity and cultural pride.

Personal Life

I live by the principles of discipline and balance. I am a vegetarian, a Muslim, and a lifelong abstainer from alcohol and tobacco.

Legacy of Service

My story is not one of privilege, but of purpose. I share it to remind every Nigerian that with vision, discipline, and service, one can transform lives and uplift a nation. I remain steadfast in my mission to advance Delta North, strengthen Anioma land, and contribute meaningfully to the greatness of Nigeria.
