The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Keston Pondi, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to human development and community-building, stressing that education remains a vital tool for reducing recidivism and promoting peace in society.

Chief Pondi made the remark on Tuesday during the inauguration of an eight-classroom block at the Medium Security Correctional Centre, Okere Road, Warri. The project was executed in partnership with the Delta State Government to enhance inmate education and rehabilitation.

Representing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the event, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, described the initiative as a demonstration of the administration’s belief in education as a bridge between incarceration and reintegration.

“By equipping inmates with knowledge and skills, we are not just giving them a second chance but also contributing to the growth and security of our state,” Prof. Tonukari said.

He commended Tantita Security Services for its corporate social responsibility and lauded the collaboration as a model for effective public-private partnership. According to him, the classrooms will provide inmates with a conducive environment to pursue academic and vocational training, aligning with Governor Oborevwori’s policy of empowering citizens through learning.

The inauguration, attended by government officials, correctional authorities, and community stakeholders, underscored the growing synergy between the state and private sector in Delta. Both parties affirmed that the new facility would serve as a beacon of hope for inmates seeking rehabilitation and a fresh start in life.
