Tension High As Israel Kills Nine Palestinians

Israeli military forces hit Jenin with air strikes and ground raids carried out by hundreds of soldiers, killing at about eight Palestinians.

A ninth Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli soldiers near Ramallah.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society has urgently called for “safe passage to evacuate the wounded and injured”.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said Israel is not intending to expand its operation in Jenin to the rest of the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian factions protest Israeli operation on Jenin

Palestinian factions have organized a protest in the centre of Gaza City to expressing solidarity with the people of Jenin, amidst the ongoing Israeli assault.

Dozens of protestants who gathered at Gaza called for an immediate end to the Israeli attack in Jenin.

The protestants display banners with inscriptions: “We are all Jenin” and “We’re with the resistance” emphasized the urgent need for intervention by international and Arab parties to put an end to the Israeli military operation in Jenin declared on Monday.

Khaled Al-Batsh, a senior leader in Islamic Jihad,  who spoke with newsmen expressed the importance of standing by the people and resistance factions in Jenin.

He stated that, “the Israeli occupation’s attempts to take the battle to the streets of Jenin and the West Bank would be in vain, assuring that Jenin would not be left alone.

“We have called upon all mediators worldwide to take immediate action to halt the assault against Jenin before it’s too late. We, in Gaza, will not abandon Jenin,” he said.
