Tinubu, Shettima, Others Pay Last Tribute To Akeredolu

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and his Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima, were among the personalities that paid the late governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, last respect.

Kashim Shettima, led a gathering of dignitaries to bid Akeredolu who died at the age of 67 after a prolonged health challenges farewell.

At the funeral service took place at St. Andrews Church on Imola Street, Owo, Ondo State, the vice president described the late Akeredolu as a committed soul and a dedicated individual who served Ondo State with his unreserved strength.

On Akeredolu’s legacy, Shettima said that it was the late governor fought a battle on behalf of the people, leaving an indelible footprint on the shared history of the community.

The Vice President, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, added that Akeredolu was a man whose voice never wavered in speaking his truth at every stage of his life.

Earlier, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging the legacies of his late boss, Governor Akeredolu.

During a sermon-themed “Brevity of Life” based on Revelation 7:9, Most Reverend Blessing Enyindah urged political officeholders to lead purposeful lives.

Reverend Enyindah appealed to the federal government for immediate solutions to economic challenges, including corruption, poverty, and insecurity.

Dignitaries present, alongside the immediate family led by Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, included governors of Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Edo, Benue, Bayelsa, Kwara, Oyo, and Enugu; former Ondo state governor Olusegun Mimiko, serving ministers; and other political office holders..
