Yul Edochie allegedly mimic Peter Obi’s voice, mode of dress, and other peculiarities in the movie entitled, ‘Peter Obi’.
The movie which allegedly tailored on Obi’s, including Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka’s comment, “We nor dey give shishi” was shared on Yul’s Instagram page.
“You all will love this movie. Out in stores nationwide,” Yul said on his page.
Nonetheless, the movie has sparked mixed reactions as many Nigerians kicked against the 40-year-old entertainer for ‘misrepresenting’ Obi.
Below are some reactions:

blessingwealth01 wrote: “No we wouldn’t! came back to drop a review here! This movie portrayed obi in a very bad light and worst still his wife! Very poor interpretation of character! Y’all couldn’t even do a proper research before shooting and you even had to use his name? I rate it zero you just wanted to cash out and it since obi is trending you jumped on it with your poorly written script #obedient pay no attention to the movie…its a distraction to strengthen our opposition!”
nwanyiwuihe_ulunneya stated: “I am reposting this here. This is not funny but jokes apart, Wetin be this! Too obvious, too worded no action. And the title is too direct. You don’t use his name outrightly like that. A pun is always implied and the viewers are intelligent enough to connect the dots. And if it is biographical, is he saying that Peter Obi’s wife acted in such manner? Where does reality stop and fiction begins? Where do we draw the lines? If you must commercialise his journey, then it should worth quality research, interviews and top-notch production. Too shallow a production to merit the name/title of “Peter Obi”……”
etbennyogbungu asked: “Are you aware you can be sued for character misrepresentation?”
superior vc said: “Terrible representation of character of both the man and his wife… Nollywood should learn from Americans how they portray stories of great leaders in their movies, everything is not cruise. Nothing inspiring.”
