Zulum Redeems N10m Pledge To Wounded Soldiers

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has approved the release of a N10million relief package to soldiers wounded during an encounters with Boko Haram insurgents in the state.
The support was in fulfilment of a pledge made by the Governor at a Sallah launch organised by the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja two months ago.
Delivering the Governor’s pledge to the General Officer Commanding GOC Seven Division, Major Peter Malla at headquarters of the Division, Maimalari Cantonment, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar appreciated the military for its sacrifice.
“You may recall that the Governor was here on a Sallah day for an event, during which he expressed the commitment of the Borno State Government to the welfare of our troops and pledged a donation of N10m to wounded soldiers. This morning he dispatched us to come and deliver the gift.” Professor Tar said.
He also commended the troops for their resilience in protecting the territorial integrity of the country and for maintaining peace in Borno State.
Receiving the donation, the General Officer Commanding GOC 7 Division, Major General Peter Malla appreciated the gesture of the Borno State Governor to the wounded soldiers.
The GOC gave the assurance of sustaining the relative peace enjoyed in the state by eliminating the remnants of the insurgents.
