247th Independence: US Pledges Support For Nigeria To Achieve Citizens Vision

The Charge d’Affaires of the United States Mission in Nigeria, Mr David Greene, has said that the U.S government is ever ready to help Nigeria in achieving the visions of its citizens.

David Greene said this during an event in Abuja to mark the U.S 247th independence anniversary.

Greene said achieving the visions of democracy has been a tough journey for both Nigeria and the United States, adding that hard work was required to preserve democratic principles and values.

The Charge d’Affaires of the United States Mission in Nigeria further said that U.S government would support the administration of President Bola Tinubu to achieve democratic visions.

According to him, the U.S government had always supported Nigeria with many positive impacts across several sectors including agriculture, health, security, economy, information technology, and renewable energy, among others.

Speaking on behalf of the Federal Government, the Director, International Organizations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Samson Itegboje, congratulated the U.S and its citizens on the occasion of their independence.

He said U.S democracy had set a good precedence for many countries of the world, and appreciated it for the support rendered to Nigeria during the just concluded elections.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio expressed the readiness of the 10th Assembly to preserving and protecting democracy in the country.
