67 Year Old Man Explains Why He Wants To Commit Suicide
The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State Police Command have on April 05, 2022 prevented one Mr Bamgboye Oluwatoye from committing suicide.
Oluwatoye who hailed from Oju-Ore, Ogun State said that the burden of life weighed so heavily on him that he wished he could live no more.
The 67-year-old man who was fed up with life was caught struggling for his way to jump into the the Lagos Lagoon at Lagos Island before the RRS team intervened.
“I sold my car and my house because of problems. I am tired of life. I have no reasons to live again. Even, after selling my personal belongings, the problem isn’t solved too.
“Everything I stand for is no more. After so much struggle, I got a good job and was told when to resume. Unfortunately, the job was given to another person upon resumption,” he lamented.
An eyewitness told Africa Investigative Magazine that the man was stopped from leaping into the lagoon by the officers on patrol of third Mainland Bridge.
The man wanted to end it all on his birthday. Hear him:
“Today is my birthday. I have decided to end it all. The burden and the frustration is too much for me to bear. My wife has abandoned me in the process,” Oluwatoye told the Police.
He has, however, been taken to Police Station.
