Assess The Performance Of My Administration With Relative Time, Available Resources, Says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to assess the performance of his administration based on relative time and resources available.

He made the call on Thursday at Borno State while commissioning Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi Distance Learning Centre and International Conference Hall in the University of Maiduguri.

President Buhari who also commissioned other projects in the state said he will use the remaining period of his administration to restore peace and improve the economy of the nation.

Speaking on the needs of people, the president noted that Nigeria needs the cooperation of elites who know the challenges facing Nigeria.

“Our nation needs the cooperation among elites in the country, with a commitment to inform people on realities and mobilize for development will help in resolving the challenges facing the nation.

“The elites owe it to the people to inform, guide, and shape opinions since they had more access and knowledge on the economy. It is good that they educate the less informed about the realities.

“On our three targets, we should look at where we were when we came in and where we are now about time and resources.”

The President explained that his administration put in good use the little resources within his disposal to tackle insecurity and economic problems.

“Despite a drop in production output and price of crude oil, the administration utilized what was available to make a difference on security and the economy.”

“For the period remaining, we will keep doing our best especially in infrastructure so that those who will come after us will not have cause to complain.”

On his part, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum thanked President Buhari for his second visit within six months to commission projects.

Zulum said, “the people of Borno State were enjoying the gradual return of peace, which enabled many to return to their homes and farms, with a commendable turnout in the harvest in 2021.”

He also expressed appreciation over the interventions of President Buhari in housing and energy, which according to him include the 50 megawatts NNPC project aimed at improving power supply in the state.

The overexcited governor prayed for Mr. President, saying “May Allah give the President wisdom and fortitude to carry on with the good works.”

In a related development, the Shehu of Borno, Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El Kanemi, hinted that the Borno state experienced peace as people returned to their various businesses.

El Kanemi alleged that since 2015 Muhammadu Buhari became the commander in chief, the state had recorded unthinkable developments in areas of infrastructure.
