The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain and strengthen security strategies aimed at enhancing public safety and protecting lives and property across the state.
CP Orutugu made this known in a statement issued by the State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer,
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on January 5, 2026.
He commended police operatives and other security agencies for their dedication, courage, and professionalism during the Yuletide security operations conducted across Anambra State.
According to him, the commitment displayed by officers and men contributed significantly to the peaceful and orderly celebrations recorded during the festive period.
The Commissioner attributed the success of the operations to the strong synergy between the Police Command, sister security agencies, and other security stakeholders.
The statement explained that the coordinated efforts ensured effective security coverage, prompt response to emerging threats, and sustained public confidence throughout the Yuletide season.
The police boss further expressed appreciation to Ndi Anambra for their cooperation, vigilance, and support, stressing that effective community partnership remains central to successful, intelligence-driven policing.
CP Orutugu noted that the positive outcomes recorded were largely a result of timely information and collaboration from members of the public.
As the state enters the year 2026, the Commissioner called on residents to deepen their cooperation with security agencies by providing timely, credible, and actionable information to help prevent crime and maintain peace across the state.
He assured the public of the Police Command’s continued commitment to proactive policing and a safer Anambra.
