Bandits Attack Travellers in Ekiti, Kill One, Abduct Two

Bandits on August 6, 2021, attacked travelers returning from the occasion. in Ekiti State.

Africa Investigative Magazine gathered that the attackers killed a man and kidnapped two others believed to be his wife and his daughter.

The attack took place between Ewu-Ekiti and Aiyetoro-Ekiti, the neighbouring communities in Ilejemeje and Ido/Osi Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.

It was verified that the local hunters and operatives of Amotekun Corps have set every machinery in motion to rescue the victims and arrest the bandits.

According to a Witness, ” the driver was shot dead and the other occupants of the vehicle were abducted.”

The vehicle was left at the scene facing the bush with the deceased inside it.

Efforts to ascertain the identity of the victims proved abortive.

Friday’s incident happened four days after suspected herdsmen killed one Mr. Ademola Afolayan on a poultry farm in Ikere-Ekiti on Monday, August 2 at about 5 pm.

It was verified that the abductors descended on the travelers’ vehicles while driving through the horrible parts of the road.
