BREAKING: Court Bars INEC From Using MC Oluomo For Distribution Of Lagos Election Materials

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has on February 20, 2023, granted an injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from using, engaging or further dealing with the chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, or any of his representatives in the distribution of election materials and adhoc staff for the forthcoming 2023 elections in the State.

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke gave the order in line with the application filed by Labour Party and Boot Party in Lagos.

It was observed that INEC was absent at Monday’s Court proceedings even though lawyer to the Labour Party told the court that the commission was served with the court papers.

Justice Aneke, however, fixed February 22 for the respondents to file their counter-affidavit to the motion.
