Confusion As Nasarawa Assembly Gets Two Speakers

Controversy brewed in Nasarawa State House of Assembly as two speakers emerged after two factions of members-elect convened at separate places to choose their principal officers.
It was gathered that thirteen members-elect held their inaugural sitting at the House of Assembly complex along Lafia Shendam Road and elected Daniel Ogazi as speaker.
At a separate session at the State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, 11 other members-elected–elected Speaker of the sixth assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe.
Security operatives have, however, been redeployed in the House of Assembly complex due to tension generated by the political face-off.
