Delta Central APC Backs Tinubu, Oborevwori for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta Central Senatorial District has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as their only candidates for the 2027 elections.

This decision was made during the APC Delta Central Mega Unity Meeting held at Wetland Hotel, Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area on June 08, 2025.

The event, which recorded the undue absence of the former deputy senate president, Senator Ovie OmoAgage, brought together top party leaders and supporters from federal, state and local government levels.

Rt. Hon. Francis Waive, who represents the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, moved the motion to adopt President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, praising Tinubu’s economic policies and Oborevwori’s leadership in Delta State, while Hon. Halims Agoda, a former member of the House of Representatives, seconded the motion.

Senator Ede Dafinone then called for a voice vote, which was passed unanimously. A vote of confidence was also passed in support of Tinubu and Oborevwori’s leadership, confirming their endorsement for re-election in 2027.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, said the meeting was held to strengthen unity among party members.

Kayamo praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying that both the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Governor’s MORE Agenda are working together for the good of the people.

According to him, “This is not an ordinary meeting. It is a strong foundation for the APC in Delta Central. Since 1999, the Urhobo people of Delta Central have never been this united. This time, we can deliver 100% support for APC in Delta State.”

Chief Keyamo added that similar unity meetings will be held in all eight local government areas, wards, and units across the senatorial district. He encouraged everyone to move forward with courage and focus.

Chief Paulinus Akpeki, APC Chairman in Delta Central, said Delta State is experiencing a fresh start under Oborevwori’s leadership. He also praised the Governor for joining the APC, saying it has changed the political direction of the state.

“This is a day of unity and purpose. A day to plan and work together as one big family,” Chief Akpeki said.

Other important speakers, including Olorogun O’tega Emerhor (2015 APC governorship candidate), Chief Stella Okotete (Executive Director of NEXIM Bank), Senator Ighoyota Amori (Chief Adviser to the Governor), and Chief Jaro Egbo (Chairman, Ughelli North Local Government), all promised to support the APC and work together for victory in 2027.

The meeting had in attendance members of the National and State Assemblies, federal appointees, commissioners, all eight local government chairmen, and other political office holders.
