DESOPADEC Gets Accolades Over Devt Strides

Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has been applauded for its developmental initiatives among the oil producing communities in the state.

The Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Atuwatse III, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Senator Iyorchia Ayu, and the governor of Delta State Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, gave the commendation in Warri while commissioning some projects executed by the board.

The projects were the three kilometre concrete road linking Oboghoro to Ogheye Dimigun and a pedestrian steel bridge across the Jorojoro Creek which licked Ogheye Dimigun, Oboghoro and Utonlila communities in Warri North Local Government Area.

The Olu of Warri who thanked the commission for executing meaningful projects in the area, said the bridge symbolizes the unity needed in all parts of the country.

He said, “This bridge symbolises the unity that we deserve in this country. Through the provision of connecting infrastructure and shared amenities, it allows development of the people and society.”

While cutting the tape, His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III stated that there will be greater interaction and understanding among communities that are connected with infrastructural development.

On his part, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who was impressed with the commitment of DESOPADEC to better the lives of the  people, urged the board to keep the candle burning.

Other DESOPADEC projects were building of two towns, complete with housing estates, primary and full boarding secondary school, cottage hospital, internal roads, rural electrification, water scheme and civic centre for the communities of Oboghoro and Utonlila.

it was gathered that the projects have been connected with another bridge to enhance efficient interaction among the communities in the Delta axis of the Benin.
