The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has distanced itself from the activities of a former staff member, Olakunle Alex Folarin, who recently appeared on a matchmaking programme hosted on Lege Miami’s social media platforms.
In a statement released by the Commission, EFCC condemned in strong terms Folarin’s participation in the programme, clarifying that he is no longer in its employment.
According to the EFCC, Folarin, who previously served as a driver at the Commission’s Ibadan Zonal Command, was dismissed after being found guilty of certificate forgery.
The Commission further disclosed that its Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered Folarin’s arrest for unlawful possession of EFCC property, including an official identity card, which he failed to return upon dismissal.
“The public is hereby advised to disregard any representation by Folarin as an EFCC operative and not associate his post-dismissal conduct with the Commission,” the statement read.
The EFCC reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on corruption and misconduct within and outside its ranks.
