Eight Suspects Arrested In Connection To Plateau Massacre

Plateau State Police Command arrested eight suspects in connection to attack that drove more than one hundred sixty persons to their graves on Christmas Eve in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas of the state.

The image maker of State Police Command, Alfred Alabo, who disclosed this in a statement, said the acted upon an intelligence by individuals whose families were affected during the massacre.

According to Alabo, the eight suspects were interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID)

He said, “As of the last count, eight people have been arrested, currently under investigation and they have been moved to the state CID, where the AIG Zone 4 and Commissioner of Police are overseeing the investigation.”

Alfred Alabo added that normalcy has been restored to the affected communities and security officers are on ground to ensure that the peace is maintained.

Following the attack, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun deployed officers to the North-Central State.

Gunmen attacked 12 communities in the council areas, killing people and leaving many others others injured, while several houses and properties were burnt.
