The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been asked to vacate their British base of Frogmore Cottage.
The spokesperson of the couple who confirmed the development said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been informed that they should vacate the property on the royal family’s Windsor estate outside London.
It was previously stated that the Duke of York had been promised the house on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Though Royal Court is yet to take a stand on the matter.
Archie and Lilibet, the duke and duchess’ two offspring, are residing with them in California as a result of the incident.
The late Queen gave the royal pair Frogmore Cottage, a Grade-II listed 10-bedroom home in the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
It was learned that Charles has requested them to leave Frogmore Cottage permanently so that Prince Andrew can move in.
The Crown Estate’s property underwent renovations from Prince Harry and Meghan in 2018–19 at an expected cost of £2.4 million.
The Sovereign Grant, which was used to pay for the expense originally, was eventually fully repaid by the Duke.
