How Goodluck Jonathan Rejected APC Automatic Presidential Ticket During A Secret Meeting With Northern Elites

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has declined 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential automatic ticket given to him by Northern cabals.

Goodluck Jonathan while rejecting the ticket with stringent conditions attached, told Northern elites that he was not interested in returning to Aso Rock as a president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The disappointed cabal members had earlier informed Jonathan to get ready for APC presidential ticket after they had warned President Buhari against handing over to Vice President Yemi Osibanjo or the erstwhile governor of Lagos State, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

The choice to bring Jonathan back to power was a result of the academic foundations he laid in the North that the present administration could not maintain.

The cabals were elated that Goodluck Jonathan could not criticize President Buhari despite the flops in his leadership, unlike former president Olusegun Obasanjo who had severally condemned the present government for one lapses or the other.

In a meeting that lasted for more than two hours, Goodluck Jonathan was told to join the APC with some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in the South-South and South-East regions.

Another condition is that the cabals want to be part of policy making and also determine who gets the major appointtment when Jonathan will be in power.

The cabal was said to be some members of President Buhari’s extended family, friends, and a few Northern elites.

In his response, former President Goodluck Jonathan rejected their automatic ticket with the conditions, saying that he’s not interested in contesting the 2023 elections.
