How The Cult Clash Consuming Souls In Ogwashi Uku Started
A middle-aged man was on Sunday night, shot dead at Ishiekpe Quarters, Ogwashi Uku, Delta State, by men suspected to be the Aye Cult group.
The deceased whose name was not given at press time was alleged to be a member of the rival cult, Baggar.
The Sunday night strikes by the Ayes brought the record to a total 3-0 against the Baggars with a few others that were badly injured.
The cold war between the rival groups placed a lot of business activities at various quarters in the community on hold as some of the shop owners close their stores earlier than usual their time.
The battle that has lasted three weeks was triggered due to the refusal of a Baggar Member to pay up for the hard drug (Ice) he allegedly collected from an Aye’s member.
Sources said that a Baggar member who allegedly deals on hard drugs collected mkpurumiri (ice) from the rival group and refused to pay him for the product which was worth about N5, 000.
It was alleged that the drug dealer agreed to reimburse the Ayes’ man after sales which he could not do.
The angered Ayes member (owner of the product) after a fruitless effort to recover his money, confronted the Baggar sales representatives who was also his junior in the Ayes and took the money on him.
The Sales Reps, however, reported to his master above the amount of money which the product owner collected from him.
“The boy selling weeds told his master that the ice owner took the N100, 000 on him, meanwhile, the ice owner did not take up to N25, 000 from him. This was how the crisis began.
It was learned that the warring parties had gone for a peace talk that amounted to nothing.
